Woolley & Co: Working Together To Help Children Through Divorce

Talking to children about divorce is one of the most difficult things a parent will have to do. That’s why Woolley & Co, Solicitors, has agreed to sponsor two new and exclusive guides with Voices in the Middle to help mums and dads with teenagers going through a family break-up.

The Conversation Guides for Parents will be aimed at helping them to appropriately engage with their children without putting them in the middle of any conflict.

Two specific age groups are being targeted through the guides: Secondary School KS4 (15 to 16 years old) and Post School KS5+ (17 to 19 years old).

While each divorce case is unique, a common question we are asked is: what can I do to help my children through this? Some don’t know how to talk to them. Others simply want tips on reassuring them. The new guides will address this and will be available to download, as well as available as printed resources.

Before signing up to the sponsorship project, we canvased opinion from our 23 family lawyers –
and there was overwhelming support:

Great idea. There is a huge amount of interest socially (and amongst parents online) regarding
children's mental health.

Think it's a fabulous idea. It doesn't matter what age you are. If you are a child of separating
parents, you are always at risk of being caught in the middle of the conflict, even as an adult

suggesting additional guides in the future for young children and those aged over 20.

The work Voices in the Middle does supporting children in family crisis is essential. Woolley & Co is
proud to be partnering with you on these guides.
